Life at the beach – happy 4th!

Family tradition has us in Manzanita on July 4th. We snarf fluffy breakfast pancakes at the Volunteer Fire Department (to benefit the local high school), cheer loudly for costumed neighbors/honored Vets/floats/candy tossers in the parade, bar-b-que and finally oooh and ahhhh at the town’s over-the-top fireworks display. Often there’s a huge crowd at the house, but this year only seven of us are enjoying the sun and doing our bit to celebrate 236 years of independence.
